Mark  (2020)

Live simulation, hemispherical projection system

Mark is a play on the expression ‘X marks the spot’. It’s a generative piece where the X has been cut into a series of concentric rings that independently rotate at will and create new patterns out of this familiar symbol. My ambition was to transform this mark into something that reflects the complex and always changing nature of every place.

Mark is a live simulation made for Crater Projects' bespoke hemispherical projection system and formed part of the show Contaminants and Compatibilities curated by Callum Brown and supported by Empathy & Risk. The work has been adapted for other sites, including Alys Beach, Florida.
